Hall of Fame
A two-time all-Northwest Conference baseball infielder; played shortstop for the 1957 team that won the first Northwest Conference title for L&C; batted .469 and .439 in his two seasons; signed a professional contract after his junior year and went on to become the first Pioneer ever to make it in the major leagues; he earned Rookie of the Year honors with the Chicago White Sox in 1963. (Charter member of Hall of Fame)
