Margaret Dowling made the most of her four years in Pamplin Gymnasium. The multi-sport star earned Northwest Conference All-Conference honors five times, was voted the L&C Rookie of the Year and named the L&C Mary Lou Hunter Multi-Sport Athlete of the Year three times. As a member of the volleyball program, Dowling set the school record for career aces (128) and tied the then program record for career kills (1,030). She is the only player in program history to post over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs (1,020) and she tacked on 215 career blocks.

Dowling was an outstanding rebounder for the basketball team and ranks tied for fifth all-time for career boards and tied for eighth for rebounds in a single-game (18). She led the NWC as a first year with 11.3 rebounds per game. Over her four seasons, she racked up 622 points, 718 rebounds, six double-doubles and two triple-doubles. She helped the women’s basketball team record three winning seasons, including earning trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2010-11 and 2011-12. As a senior, she was named the Pioneer Athletic Club (PAC) Senior Career Award winner. Off the hardwood, Margaret was an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as the first Special Olympics liaison in school history. She was also elected as the SAAC Co-Chair in her senior year.
