Finishing his career at Lewis & Clark as the record holder for most home runs in a single season (15), Chris Dutton played for the Pioneers and coach Jerry Gatto from 1985-87. During his time on the diamond, Dutton earned NAIA District II First-Team honors and was an All-Conference First-Team selection in both 1986 and 1987. He set the all-time mark of 15 home runs in 1987, a year after hitting a team-high 11. Dutton was also tops in batting average (.410), RBIs (47) and slugging percentage (.821). For his career, Dutton’s .746 slugging percentage is the best all-time. He also has the second-most career home runs and third-best career batting average for Lewis & Clark. His 1987 team won the District II championship with a 27-10-1 overall record and a 14-1 conference mark. Dutton also played one season on the Lewis & Clark men’s basketball team (1987-88).
