Four-year letter winner for the Pioneers; first Lewis & Clark male four-year All-American (in multiple events); All-American in the 200 fly (1:57.09, 7th place) at the NAIA National meet in 1989; All-American in the 200 fly (1:53.01, 4th place) and 400 IM (4:10.84, 6th place) as a sophomore, setting the school record in the 400 IM with that time; All-American in the 200 fly again in 1991 (1:53.67, 6th place) and as a senior in 1992 (1:55.45, 7th place).
