Dani Peters Tice was the first female athletic trainerĀ in Lewis & Clark history, helping the Pioneers fromĀ 1977-80. She was also one of the first female trainersĀ at a United States small college. It was said of DaniĀ that she possessed excellent skills and knowledgeĀ in the training field, and through her demeanor andĀ actions commanded and received the respect of theĀ professionals with whom she worked and the student-athletes with whom she provided training services. SheĀ provided the highest quality of athletic training andĀ commitment to Lewis & Clark College.

Dani met her husband, Larry, at her first job out ofĀ college and they married in 1983 before moving to Molalla, Ore. Their son Paul is married to Rachael andĀ they have a daughter, Melody Grace. Dani is a partner and the accounting manager at a tax and accounting business in Molalla. Her love for sports was passed on to herĀ son who started baseball & soccer at six years old and Dani was his coach in some capacity until he reached high school. Dani’s family loves the beach and was in theĀ process of moving to the Washington Coast during her induction year. Her legacy at Lewis & Clark started with her mother and Dani said her mother would have been soĀ proud that Dani is being honored in the Hall of Fame for doing what she loved: helpingĀ people and being involved in sports.
