Four-time, first-team NWC selection; was selected as District 2 Player-of-the-Year and as a second-team All-American in 1981; honored in basketball as a 1982 second-team NWC pick; honored by the NAIA in the form of the Emil S. Liston Scholar-Athlete-Citizen award; was a three-time team MVP in baseball, four-time NWC, and three-time District 2 selection; chosen as a 1980-81 Academic All-American; was a District 2 baseball Player of the Year in 1982; featured in a 1981 Sports Illustrated article for survival as a three-sport athlete; signed a pro-baseball contract for the San Diego Padres organization.
