Coached by Tony Evans, the 1980 Pioneer men's soccer team won the Northwest Conference Championship in the sport's second year of existence within the NWC. The team compiled a 13-5-1 overall record and 4-0-1 conference standing. After winning the NWC Championship, the Pioneers went on to earn the NAIA District II Championship, making it to the Bi-District NAIA Playoffs. The Pioneers had three players earn a spot on the NWC All-Conference First-Team following the conclusion of the season.
