Kling was a four-year letter winner as a member of the softball team and women’s basketball team. As a freshman softball player, she helped her team place second in the Northwest Conference, and as a senior in 1982, she helped lead her team to a third-place finish. Kling also won the fourth year L&C award in 1982 and was honored as a First-Team WCIC softball selection all four years of play. As a basketball player, Kling was one of the Pioneers’ key play makers on the court. During her senior year, she led the team with 53 assists, was second on the team in steals, and was tied for first for the most steals in Conference.
