Four-year letterman quarterback in football and three-year letterman guard in basketball; during his three years as starting quarterback (1961-63), L&C had a record of 21-4-1; passed for 2,014 career yards and 29 touchdowns; floor leader for the 1962 and 1963 basketball teams that compiled a 43-17 record and went 3-2 in two NAIA national tournaments in Kansas City; averaged 6.3 points in 97 basketball games.
