Lewis & Clark College

Earned three letters each in football, basketball and baseball; in football he saw action at quarterback and halfback and was defensive captain of the undefeated 1950 team that limited nine opponents to 103 yards of offense a game and 31 combined points; was all-Northwest Conference 1st team as a senior in football and baseball.
