Nilsson made a huge impact on the women’s tennis program from the moment she stepped on campus. She was named the Northwest Conference Player of the Year twice and to the All-Conference team all four years. As a freshman, she instantly proved herself to be one of the top players in the region. Nilsson made it to the finals of the Fall West Region ITA Singles and Doubles brackets and finished the year 18-0 in singles play. She was recognized as the West Region Rookie of the Year, earned NWC Sportswoman of the Year accolades and was honored as the Pioneers Female Rookie of the Year.

Nilsson followed that up with a dominant sophomore campaign where she went 40-4. She earned the Lois Smithwick Female Athlete of the Year and the Troy Ridenour Memorial Award during her sophomore year. Nilsson finished her career with a record of 97-27, while playing at the top spot in singles and doubles every season. She still stands as the program-record holder for doubles wins and doubles wins in a single-season for conference play. Off the court, Nilsson served as a leader in the L&C SAAC, as the NWC SAAC President and was the Lewis & Clark NCAA Woman of the Year nominee for the 2010-11 academic year.
