Michael Thompson was a NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, while being named a two-time All-Conference First-Team and All-District Il Defensive Tackle honoree for the Pioneer football team. Thompson captained the team his senior season, the same year he was named the Joe Huston Male Athlete of the Year, as well as earning NAIA/NWC Scholar-Athlete honors. As a senior Mike was named NAIA District Il Player of the Week for his performance against Central Washington University. He accounted for 22 tackles (16 unassisted), two sacks, a forced fumble and a blocked extra point attempt. Mike graduated with honors in political science.
