Women’s Soccer Welcomes Nine Newcomers

Incoming class features talent from six states, a junior college transfer, and multiple all-league honorees as Lewis & Clark prepares for 2025 season.

PORTLAND, Ore.— When fall camp opens in August, Lewis & Clark College women's soccer will welcome nine incoming student-athletes for Director of Soccer and Head Women's Soccer Coach Jim Tursi's 15th season at the helm.

The Pioneers graduated three seniors last fall, including All-Northwest Conference selections Celeste Schreifels and Abby Hayes.

"We're excited to welcome nine newcomers this fall who bring a variety of skill sets and positional depth to the women's soccer program," Tursi said. "Brie Maker and Elias Heaton will learn behind our two senior goalkeepers and gain valuable experience heading into their sophomore seasons. Junior college transfer Maggie Faye brings height and strength to our midfield, which could help generate scoring opportunities off set pieces. Riley Yip will look to step into the role held by Celeste over the past five seasons, and Meredith Horne has the potential to break into the starting lineup and allow some of our returners to push forward in the attack.

Nikki Cabral, Hattie Valdez Lindgren, Claire Anderson, and Po Panis-Colorado are outside players who each bring something different to the table. We're hoping they can break through and add spark and depth to our lineup. We're looking forward to having everyone back on campus and getting to work."
