Key Moments
The Lions were down 71-66 with less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter when Clare Faber cut through the Pioneers' defense for a layup to make it a four-point game. After a contested shot that went out of bounds off the Pioneers, Multnomah's Maddie Hill wanted a foul call but didn't get it. Resuming possession, Multnomah's Elise Graham drove to the rim, but a foul from Coco Shafer sent her to the line for two. Graham knocked down both free throws to bring the Lions within a point of Lewis & Clark before head coach Ann Dorris called a timeout.
Upon reentering the game, Richards made a crucial no-look, one-handed layup to extend the lead to three. The Lions (0-2) had to resort to fouling in hopes that the Pioneers would miss their opportunities at the line. Romo hit 3 for 4 free throws around a steal from Richards to seal the win.
