Women's Basketball Moves Into First Place In Conference After Taking Down Pacific 80-56

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's basketball team moved into first place in the Northwest Conference on Friday night after defeating the Pacific Boxers 80-56 in the Pamplin Sports Complex.

The win helps the Pioneers improve to 17-5 on the season and 11-2 in conference action. With the victory the Pioneers move into a three-way tie for first place in the Northwest Conference with the Puget Sound Loggers and George Fox Bruins. The Boxers fall to 6-16 overall and 2-11 in conference.

Sophomore Kristina Williams ended the night with 15 points, while Neva Hauser chipped in 14. Junior Margaret Dowling finished the night with nine points and Megan Spence, Kayla Reeves and Tayler Wang each scored seven. Williams and Dowling ended the night with a game-high six rebounds, while Christina Herring, Hauser and Wang all collected five. Every healthy Pioneer saw action in the win.

The Boxers were led by 19 points from Erica Schultz and Kandice McArthur. Paige Jensen chipped in nine points in the Boxer loss.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. when they host the Pacific Lutheran Lutes.
