Chavez led Lewis & Clark's defense and posted new career-highs in solo tackles, total tackles, tackles-for-loss and sacks in the win over Pomona-Pitzer. The Stockton, California native racked up six solo tackles, eight total stops, 4.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks to lead the defensive unit. Chavez's 4.5 tackles-for-loss are the most by a Pioneer since Louis Baltazar ('11) posted 4.5 against Linfield University on November 12, 2011.Ā

In the team's first three games this season, Chavez has posted a team-high 6.5 tackles-for-loss and four sacks and sits third on the team with his 13 total stops. He ranks 14

As a team, Lewis & Clark allowed their fewest points in a game on Saturday since the 2010 season. The Pioneers shutout Pacific University 48-0 on October 2, 2010 to earn a massive win on Homecoming and the program's first shutout since the 1997 season. The defense racked up seven sacks and 11 tackles-for-loss against the Sagehens. Both totals were the most by a Lewis & Clark defense since October 6, 2018 against the University of Puget Sound.Ā
