Lewis & Clark Women’s Soccer Places Six on CSC Academic All-District Team

Kate Meinhard, Elle Sparks and Grace Smith earned repeat recognition.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – College Sports Communicators named six Lewis & Clark College women's soccer student-athletes to the 2024-25 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Team.
 
Seniors Kate Meinhard and Elle Sparks and junior Grace Smith earned their second straight NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Academic All-District honors. The award is Meinhard's third overall after she was selected to the NCAA Division III Academic All-District At-Large Team for women's lacrosse as a sophomore. Juniors Iris Stutzman and Mischa Vanek and sophomore Kailani Pascua received Academic All-District recognition for the first time.
 
The CSC Academic All-District program honors student-athletes who hold a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50, are at least sophomores academically and athletically, and either compete in at least 90 percent of the team's matches or start at least two-thirds of them.
 
Meinhard, a senior from Shaker Heights, Ohio, is a physics major with minors in mathematics, studio arts and art history. She started all 20 matches and finished with two goals and nine shots on target. She scored in the season opener against Wisconsin Oshkosh and added a goal at Pacific in late October. Meinhard logged 1,518 minutes.
 
Pascua is a sophomore midfielder and forward from Kula, Hawaii. She is an undeclared major. Pascua played in all 20 matches with four starts, totaled 552 minutes and recorded three shots on goal.
 
Smith, a junior from Erie, Colorado, majors in biology and minors in Spanish. She started all 20 matches and scored twice. She converted a penalty at Willamette and added a second goal against the Bearcats in the season finale. Smith took 18 shots, including four on target, and played 1,677 minutes.
 
Sparks is a senior outside back from Honolulu, Hawaii, majoring in biology. She started every match and led the team with 1,734 minutes. Sparks finished with one assist and a shot on goal and helped the team post five shutouts while holding 10 opponents to one goal or fewer.
 
Stutzman, a junior midfielder from Scarborough, Maine, majors in environmental studies and minors in earth system science. She played in all 20 matches, started 18, scored the game-winner against George Fox on Sept. 27 and registered six shots on goal in 1,515 minutes.
 
Vanek is a junior forward from Irvine, California. She majors in biology and minors in computer science and chemistry. She played in all 20 matches with 19 starts and led Lewis & Clark with three goals. She scored against UC Santa Cruz, Whitman and Whitworth and finished with 32 shots, 13 shots on goal and six points.
