Whitman Defeats Women's Soccer 3-0

Kaedance Stubbs went over 1,000 career minutes on Sunday

WALLA WALLA, Wash.—Three Whitman College players scored, to lead the host Blues to a 3-0 win over Lewis & Clark College women's soccer on Sunday at Whitman Athletic Fields. 

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED 
 
The host Blues capped off a dominant home weekend by outshooting Lewis & Clark 15-4 and posting a 6-1 edge in shots on goal. Whitman opened the weekend with a 5-0 win over George Fox University and capped off their home schedule with their fifth win in 11 contests (5-3-3). 
 
Lewis & Clark College senior goalies Anna Ingadottir and Delaney Jones combined for three saves in the contest. Ingadottir earned the start and made two saves on four shots and played the opening 58:53. Jones came on for the final 31:07 and stopped one of two shots. 
 
Senior Carli Driskill posted the team's lone shot on target. Senior Kate Meinhard and juniors Mischa Vanek and Rowan Levandoski each posted one shot. 
 
Whitman grabbed the lead in the sixth minute when Kiki Glorioso scored her second goal of the season off a pass from Erisa Baba. 

The hosts controlled the first half and held an 8-1 edge in shots in stanza. Vanek posted Lewis & Clark's first shot of the game in the 30th minute. 
 
Whitman made it 2-0 early in the second half. Avery Cohen scored an unassisted goal at 55:22 to double the Blues lead. 

Lewis & Clark would earn their first corner kick of the game moments after the goal and Driskill forced a save in the 64th minute. 
 
Whitman closed out the scoring at 74:33. Leah Barnes took a pass from Lorelei Starr and sent a low shot inside the post for her third goal of the season. 
 
BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Ingadottir saw her scoreless streak end at 189:32. She posted back-to-back shutouts in the previous two games for the first time in her collegiate career. 
  • Sophomore Ava Lazzara was the lone Pioneer to play all 90 minutes in the contest. 
  • Jones made her first appearance in net since October 11. They have allowed one goal or fewer in three of their five appearances this season. 
  • Junior Avery Knauss played a season-high 28 minutes in the contest. 
WHO'S NEXT 
 
Lewis & Clark will travel to take on Linfield University on Saturday at 11 a.m. in their final game of a five-game road trip.
