Second-Half Surge Leads Linfield Past Women's Soccer

Sophomore Siena Flock played an NWC season-high 22 minutes off the bench

McMinnville, Oregon.— Three Linfield College seniors scored to lead the host Wildcats to a 3-0 win over Lewis & Clark College women's soccer on Saturday at Linfield Athletic Fields. 
 
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED 
 
The host Wildcats outshot Lewis & Clark 19-8 and posted a 7-4 edge in shots on goal. After a scoreless first half where both teams finished with 6 shots and two on goal , Linfield's Jocelyn Jacobs broke the tie scoring in the 51st minute. Jenna Stanley scored Linfield's second goal in the 69th minute to tie her for the team lead in goals this season (fifth). With 12 minutes left in the half, Ruby Lacktrup scored the third and final goal. 
 
Lewis & Clark College senior goalie Anna Ingadottir and Delaney Jones both saw time in goal. Ingadottir made three saves on six shots and played the opening 79 minutes . Jones came on for the final 11 minutes and stopped the only shot he faced. 
 
Three Lewis and Clark players posted shots on goal. Senior Carli Driskill recorded two in her penultimate game. First year Riley Yip and junior Iris Stutzmam added shots on goal as well.  Junior Mischa Vanek and Grace Smith each posted one shot. 
 
BY THE NUMBERS 
 
  • Linfield dominated possession in the game with a 71-29 lead 
  • Sophomore center back Ava Lazzara was the lone Pioneer to play all 90 minutes in the contest. 
  • Jones made their second appearance in the last 2 games, after missing three weeks due to injury.  
  • Sophomore Claire Anderson made her second collegiate appearance and first since September 28. She played seven minutes off the bench. 
  • Sophomore Siena Flock played an NWC season-high 22 minutes off the bench. 
 
WHO'S NEXT 
 
Lewis & Clark will face Willamette University at home on Sunday at 11 a.m. in their final game of the season. The Pioneers will honor their nine seniors at 10:30 a.m.
