Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers earned their first victory of the season against the Bushnell Beacons, with a final score of 6-1. The Thursday evening non-conference game at Griswold Stadium saw the Pioneers put themselves on the scoreboard just minutes into the first half off a goal from Brecklyn Beighle, her first goal outside of penalty kicks for the season.
Junior-transfer Chloe Helenihi and sophomore Celeste Schreifels combined for Lewis & Clark's five additional goals, with Helenihi putting another two shots into the net for a 3-0 lead at halftime. Helenihi earned a hat trick with her third shot in the second half, while Schreifels added two of her own goals. She also led the team with two assists.
The Pioneers showcased strong passing and ball control in their matchup with the Beacons, dominating possession and winning the majority of 50/50 balls.
Sophia Young and Abby Prager split the game in goal again, with Young starting for the Pios and making one save. Prager allowed the Beacon's only goal and made two saves.

Key Moments
The Pioneers were only 2:14 into the first half when Beighle found the back of the net off an assist from Schreifels, setting up an early lead that Lewis & Clark held on to for the rest of the game. Beighle led the team with five shots. Schreifels added her second assist off the Pioneers' following goal in the 12th minute of play, where Helenihi made her first score of the game. Helenihi followed that up with an unassisted goal at 19:09, putting the Pioneers at a 3-0 advantage in the first 20 minutes of play. The Pioneers' defense limited the Beacons to just two shots in the entire first half.
Bushnell came back with a more aggressive second half, taking nine shots and scoring their first and only goal in the ninth minute of play. Emily Puita snuck one past Prager off a double-assist from Dejah Wallot and Sydney Peterson. Schreifels earned her first career goal at 57:35 which was followed up by Helenihi's third goal just a minute later at 58:34 to bring the Pioneers to a 5-1 lead. Schreifels then closed out the match with a 78th minute goal.
Ella Gouran and Angelina Peterson each contributed two shots to the Pioneers' 20 overall, while Macy O'Hara, Jeni Baez, Olivia Cowley, and Elsa Horsted all contributed one.
