Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers played an aggressive Corban team Saturday evening at Griswold Stadium, losing their second match of the season 2-0. The Warriors put themselves on the board early in the first half, gaining a lead that they held onto through the rest of the game. The Pioneers' offense found a better rhythm in the second half with three shots, but couldn't get one past Warriors goalie Makida Herbert.
Sophia Young started in goal for the Pioneers, allowing one goal and making two saves in her 45 minutes of play. Abby Prager entered the game for the second half, allowing one goal and making four saves. Prager has nine saves in two games so far this season.

Key Moments
The Warriors first twenty minutes of play showcased their excellent ball control, which led to an early goal and lead. Chanel Garcia found the back of the net in the 8th minute of the first half, off an assist from Mei Suetsugu. Corban took another eight shots in the first half, two of which were thwarted by Young.
The Pioneers' defense stepped up in the second half, limiting the Warriors to just six shots. Prager managed four saves, while defensive veteran Madi Pastores stepped in with a few key blocks. The Pioneers also mounted a more aggressive offense in the second half, but their few key breakaways were met with strong defensive play from the Warriors.
Pioneers newcomers Chloe Helenihi, Ella Gouran, and Sofia Congram all contributed a shot to the Pioneers' five total, while Celeste Shreifels and Macy O'Hara took the Pioneers' other two. Of the five, Congram's shot was the only one not on goal.
