Key Moments
Both shots by Beighle happened early in each half. The senior forward missed high in the 10th minute before she shot wide in the first two minutes of the second half.
Young faced three on-goal shots in the opening 20 minutes including the opening goal by Linfield (18th minute by Kristen Burke). The Pios defense settled things during the midpoint of the half and even thwarted four corner-kick opportunities by the Wildcats. Young stopped a header in the 36th minute.
In the second half, Linfield scored in the first three minutes when Izzy Chauls put a ball in the left side of the net from the opposite direction. Jalissa Somers scored in the 58th minute before Young made a pair of consecutive saves. Young's final two were after an 84th minute goal by Erika Olivera-Gutierrez.
Deeper Look
- Beighle's two shots are a season high; after no shot attempts in her first three games of the season, she has had at least one in her last three
- Meanwhile, Beighle's younger sister, sophomore Brecklyn Beighle, had her first game in the last five without a shot attempt (she had at least two in each of her last four games)
- Seirmarco's shot on goal is the second of her career on her first overall shot of the season
- Prior to Sunday, the Pios were undefeated (2-0-1) in games where Young had made at least four saves
- Four goals allowed matches Young's career high and ends a streak of four straight games with one or fewer goals allowed (including a 1-0 loss to Linfield last Wednesday)
