Box Score SALEM, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers (10-6-3, 8-5-2) played their final away game of the season against the Willamette Bearcats (5-14-0, 4-11-0) on Saturday at Sparks Field, winning 3-0. The win ties the school record for the most Northwest Conference wins in a season.
The game remained scoreless in the first half before the Pioneers went on a scoring spree late in the second, finding the net three times between the 74th and 82nd minutes.
The Pioneers outshot the Bearcats in both halves and earned seven corner kicks to Willamette's one. Madi Pastores, Brecklyn Beighle and Alexa Myers led the Pioneers' scoring efforts, with assists from Beighle and Chloe Helenihi. Helenihi and Celeste Schreifels combined for six shots on the day. The Pioneers outshot the Bearcats 16-9.
Sophia Young and Abby Prager split the game in the net, combining for three saves.

Pastores started the scoring run for the Pioneers in the 74th minute when she was able to poke the ball into the net off a corner kick from Beighle, who then followed up with a goal of her own in the 77th minute. Helenihi got the assist on the second goal, her second of the season. Myers rounded out the scoring spree when she knocked the ball into the net off a free kick from between 35 and 40 yards from the net.
The center backs were a crucial part of keeping the Pioneers in the game today. Outside of their two goals, they kept the back line together and effectively shut down fast attackers, denying them the space to do any serious damage.
