Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. -- Grace Godines shot at the buzzer spoiled Delsie Johnson's layup and free throw with one second left in Saturday's opening game of the Lewis & Clark tournament at Pamplin Sports Center. Patil Yaacoubian inbounded and threw to Godines, who was open for the Cal Lutheran Regals, and Lewis & Clark lost 71-70.
Prior to the Regals' game-winner, Johnson was fouled with one second left on a layup that went in. She made the free throw to put the Pios up 70-69. Johnson finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Lewis & Clark had double-digit scoring from Charlotte Carroll (13) and Peyton Romo (11).

Baskets were tough to get for the final five minutes of the game. Three points were scored over a five-minute span before Yaacoubian scored to put the Regals up 68-65 with 38 second left. After a timeout, Carroll scored immediately and the Pios were within one, 68-67, with 22 seconds left. Cameron Mallory made a free throw with nine seconds left for a two-point Cal Lutheran lead.
Johnson rebounded a missed 3-pointer by Karli Mukai, scored and was fouled. She made the free throw and the Pioneers led 70-69. Out of a timeout, Yaacoubian held the ball nearly the whole five seconds to inbound, Godines ran away from the defense and got open on the right side of the basket for a lay-in as time expired.
The Regals (2-0) once led by 15 points, while the Pios took a four-point lead with 7:13 left in the game. The teams were nearly even in all categories except second-chance points (Lewis & Clark 16, Cal Lutheran 6) and bench points (Cal Lutheran 23, Lewis & Clark 14).
