PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College women's basketball fell to George Fox University 77-50 on Friday evening at Pamplin Sports Center in Northwest Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior
Lauryn Frederickson led Lewis & Clark with 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds. She added three assists and one steal.
Sophomore
Kaitlen Carns scored 10 points, all from the free-throw line, where she went 10-for-12. She also dished out three assists and grabbed three rebounds.
First-year
Lilly Jordan finished with eight points, all in the fourth quarter, and shot 2-for-5 from three-point range. Fellow first-year
Hailey Perez added five points and a blocked shot.
Junior
Divinity Singleton and first-year
Ky Roussin each scored four points off the bench. Singleton also recorded two blocked shots.
George Fox set the tone early, building an 18-10 lead after the first quarter. The Bruins shot 8-of-18 from the field, while Lewis & Clark struggled to 3-for-11 shooting. The River Otters kept it close early following a Frederickson layup and two free throws from Perez to trail 5-4. George Fox's Hanne Hopkins scored seven of her game-high 21 points in the opening frame.
The Bruins extended the margin to 39-21 by halftime. Lewis & Clark managed just three field goals in the second quarter, going 3-for-15 from the floor. Frederickson scored four points in the period, Perez hit a three-pointer, and Carns and Singleton each added two free throws.
Lewis & Clark converted all six of its free throws in the third quarter, with Carns knocking down four and senior
Tatiana Rebanal hitting two. George Fox carried a 55-31 lead into the final quarter.
The River Otters showed improved rhythm in the fourth quarter, scoring 19 points on 50 percent shooting. Jordan connected on two three-pointers in the period, Frederickson added a three, and Carns converted two free throws. Lewis & Clark briefly trimmed the deficit, but George Fox answered each push and closed the game on a 14-4 run.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Lewis & Clark shot 18-of-21 from the free-throw line (85.7 percent).
- Rebanal and first-year Ali McCauley rounded out the scoring with two points apiece.
- Carns and Jordan tied for second on the team with three rebounds each.
- George Fox outrebounded Lewis & Clark 43-21, including a 17-4 edge on the offensive glass.
- The Bruins turned those extra opportunities into 25 second-chance points, compared to four for Lewis & Clark.
