Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers (7-5-1, 5-4-0) struggled to find their rhythm Wednesday night at Griswold Stadium, losing 4-1 to the George Fox Bruins (8-4-1, 6-2-1). This is the second time the Pioneers have faced off against the Bruins this season, marking the start of repeat conference competition. The Pioneers' lone goal in the game helped them to a stronger finish than in their first face-off with George Fox, where they lost in a 4-0 shutout.
The Bruins scored back-to-back goals in each half, with two goals coming from penalty kicks. They outshot the Pioneers 13-3, but Lewis & Clark made the most of their limited opportunities when Celeste Schreifels scored in the 80th minute off a corner kick opportunity. Brecklyn Beighle got the assist for her fourth of the season.
Sophia Young tended goal for the full 90 minutes of play and made seven saves.

While the Bruins were able to deflect the first attempt, Schreifels eventually found an opening and sent the ball to the back of the net, securing her ninth goal of the season.
