Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers struggled to maintain any offensive momentum as they lost to the Whitman Blues, 77-46. The Pioneers (2-11, NWC 1-2) continue to be plagued by turnovers, with the Blues (9-3, NWC 3-0) scoring 22 points off of giveaways. The Pioneers also ran into foul trouble early, ending the game with 20 team fouls overall.
The Blues outshot the Pios, 40 to 28 percent, which opened up a 27 point lead by the end of the half. Delsie Johnson led the scoring efforts with 16 points, hitting seven of 10 free throws. Janessa Willie was also perfect from the free throw line, going four for four. The Pios found some momentum through the third quarter, putting the most points on the board for the game, with Laurel Marchant scoring a buzzer beater to end the quarter.
