Box Score

PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis & Clark goalie Hannah Osmundson made the most important save of her career denying a penalty kick attempt at the 103rd minute to salvage a 0-0 tie with Pacific Lutheran on Senior Day, Sunday afternoon at Griswold Stadium.

Seniors Kori Swanson and Tasha Addington-Ferris, who played their last match in front of the home faithful, saw the Pios' end the 2017 campaign at 3-14-3 overall and 2-12-2 in Northwest Conference play.

The Lutes tied for the first time this season are now 16-3-1 and 13-2-1 in the NWC.

Since 2011, the Lewis & Clark/Pacific Lutheran match up has produced eight double overtime games between them resulting in three ties. The teams tied twice during the 2012 campaign.

Both teams had scoring chances in the extra sessions, none more important than Osmundson denying Kaylie Rozell on her point-blank penalty kick stop after a hand ball foul was called in the box.

It was the second shutout for Osmundson, while Lutes' goalie Natalie Robinson tallied her 16th of the season.

Pacific Lutheran, ranked fifth in the west region by the United Soccer Coaches' poll dominated the shots on goal category 19-8, in addition to a 10-2 corner kicks margin.

The first 45 minutes of action saw the home team play the aggressor and controlling the tempo.  Lewis & Clark put together back-to-back scoring threats at the 22 and 23-minutes. Anna Saucedo fired off a shot that sailed over the goal at the 23rd-minute.

Each team registered two shots in the first half.

In the second stanza, Pacific Lutheran knocked on the door with three scoring opportunities during the opening five minutes. The visitors did keep the pressure on in the second half, registering a 10-5 shots advantage.

Lewis & Clark also had their chances in the second half as Saucedo hit the post at the 72nd minute.

In the first extra session, Osmundson came up big, stopping Tasha Tennyson with seconds remaining, one of her season-best 12 saves in the game.  McKenzie Wingard led the Pios' with a pair of shots on goal.
