First half goal leads to Pios loss

TACOMA, Wash.-- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers lost against the Pacific Lutheran Lutes this Sunday afternoon with a score of 1-0.

The first half was controlled by the Lutes not allowing the Pioneers to take a single shot while they took eight shots with three on-goal. The Pioneers goalie Hannah Osmundson was able to save two of the three shots on-goal but a shot by Pacific Lutheran's Liz Griffith slipped by putting them up 1-0 in the 31st minute.

In the second half Lewis & Clark's first shot didn't come till the 80th minute by Anna Saucedo. The Pios second shot came in the last minute of regulation off a header by Giana Losson but was saved by Pacific Lutheran's goalie Natalie Robinson.

Pacific Lutheran had a total of 19 shots with seven corners and seven shots on goal to the Pioneers two shots and one shot being on goal.

This loss moves the Pioneers record to 1-6-1 in conference and 2-8-2 overall.

The Pioneers return to Griswold Stadium to play Whitman on Friday Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
