Barta earns first career goal in loss to George Fox

NEWBERG, Ore. -- Lewis & Clark had a tough loss on Sunday afternoon, falling to the George Fox Bruins by a score of 2-1. The defeat brings their current record to 2-11-1 in the Northwest Conference.

The Pioneers only goal came from a header by Paige Barta in the 83rd minute off of a corner kick by Caroline Hennes. The score was Barta's first goal of the season and the first of her career.

The Pioneers had a total of 11 shots, six on-goal, which was double the amount of shots-on-goal by George Fox. Bruins goalie Annalisa Klein was able to save five of them.

Becca McCullough had three of the Pioneers' shots, a season high. Hennes ended the match with two shots-on-goal and the assist to Barta.

Hannah Osmundson finished the match with one save and played the entire game.

The Pioneers will be playing Pacific at Hanson Stadium this Saturday at 12 p.m.
