A pair of goals by freshman Hennes, Saucedo net a Lewis & Clark win

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Anna Saucedo scored her first collegiate goal to answer Whitman's equalizer in a 2-1 victory for the Lewis & Clark Pioneers on Sunday afternoon at Griswold Stadium.

The victory is Lewis & Clark's third in its last four matches.

In the 54th minute, Saucedo finished off a cross by Paige Barta and a pass of the head of Taylor Hudson to score from the right side against Whitman goalkeeper Haley Case.

Lewis & Clark opened the scoring with a fourth-minute goal by Caroline Hennes, her team-leading sixth of the season. The Pioneers led at halftime by a 1-0 margin before Whitman tied the game in the 46th minute on Pagan Hetherington's goal.

The Pioneers play on Thursday in Portland against Willamette.
