NEWBERG, Ore- The Lewis & Clark softball team finished out a four game series with George Fox Friday taking home a win 2-1. Madison Hollenbeck scored both runs for the Pioneers and took home the win on the mound. The Pioneers move to 11-20 overall and a 7-15 Northwest Conference record, while the Bruins move to 23-13 overall with a 12-12 conference record.
The first inning for both teams was quiet, but Hollenbeck blew the 0-0 score open with a lead off homer in the second to left center field. In the bottom of the frame, the Bruins hit a single with two outs through the left side of the field. The excitement was short lived as catcher Maddie Lee caught the runner stealing.
Hollenbeck led off the fourth inning with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Lindsay Yearman. With two outs, Jenai Rojo stepped to the plate and cranks a double just shy of the fence to score Hollenbeck from second.
The Bruins one and only run came in the bottom of the fourth when Kayla Anderson homered to center field. They threatened in the bottom of the seventh putting runners on first and second with two outs, but Hollenbeck pitched a ground out to end the game.

Allyssa DenDekker (7-7) takes the loss for the Bruins pitching three and two thirds innings allowing two runs on two hits while walking one.
