Amanda Dow-Allen joined the Pioneers staff in the fall of 2010, after serving as an assistant coach for two years at Bryant University. During her time at Bryant, Dow-Allen helped transition the Bulldogs from the Division II to the Division I level. Primarily working with outfielders and hitters, Dow-Allen also maintained recruiting databases, inventory control of equipment and uniforms, scouting reports, and NCAA compliance paperwork.
She spent time at Wellesley College prior to joining the Bryant staff, where she was an assistant coach for four seasons (2004-08). While at Wellesley, she played a key role within the program with duties including practice planning, scouting opponents, and working with outfielders, catchers and hitters. Wellesley had great success while Dow-Allen was with the program, including two ECAC playoff berths in 2005 and 2006, as well as winning the NEWMAC Conference Championship in 2007. Wellesley qualified for the 2007 and 2008 NCAA playoffs.
A 2004 graduate of Wheaton College, Dow-Allen was a member of the school's softball and basketball teams. In softball, she earned a pair of All-New England honors in 2003 and 2004 as well as a pair of NEWMAC All-Conference selections in 2003 and 2004. She received NCAA Regional All-Tourney honors in 2001, 2004 and NCAA National All-Tournament honors in 2004. During her tenure she also helped the softball program win four NEWMAC Conference Championships, two NCAA Regional Tournaments, a third place finish in 2001, and a fifth place finish in 2004 in the NCAA College World Series.
In 2013, Dow-Allen earned her master's degree with a concentration in Sports Administration from Canisius College.
