Women's Basketball Outlasts Pacific Led by 23 from Wang

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's basketball team outlasted the Pacific Boxers on Friday night in Northwest Conference action, paced by 23 points from senior Tayler Wang. The Pioneers pulled out a 73-63 win over the Boxers in the Pamplin Sports Center. 

The win moves the Pioneers to 8-6 on the year and 3-2 in conference action. The Boxers fall to 4-9 overall and 0-5 in the NWC. 

Wang led all players with 23 points, finishing 7-of-11 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from three point range. The senior guard was also 5-of-6 from the charity stripe, while leading all players in rebounds with seven. Katie Anderson was the only other Pioneer to finish the night in double figures scoring with 13. Anderson led all players with a game-high seven assists. 

Olivia Mayorga-Overtone led the Boxers with 15 points off the bench, while teammate Olivia Cook knocked down 14. 

The Pioneers return to the court on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m. against Willamette in the Pamplin Sports Center.
