BOXSCORE

TACOMA, Wash.- A Pacific Lutheran goal in the second minute of double overtime gave the Lutes a 2-1 victory over visiting Northwest Conference opponent Lewis & Clark.

Pacific Lutheran got on the scoreboard first in the 18th minute with a goal from Samantha Brenner.  She collected a pass from Hannah Bush in the middle of the field from 35 yards out to give the Lutes a 1-0 lead.

55 seconds into the second half freshman Isobel Fikso provided the equalizer for Lewis & Clark.  Off a corner kick by senior Emilia Emmetti, Fikso was able to put her head on the ball to knot the game at one.

The Pioneers outshot the Lutes 9-6 in regulation but it was not enough as PLU's Kaylie Rozell provided the game winning goal in the 102nd minute.  Rozell found herself one-on-one with Lewis & Clark goalkeeper Geena Fong and slipped the ball into the back of the net from 10 yards out giving PLU the 2-1 victory. Brenner picked up the assist on the play.

The win brings Pacific Lutheran to 8-3-5 overall and 6-1-5 in the NWC while Lewis & Clark falls to 9-6-1 overall and 6-5-1 in league.

The Pioneers travel to Whitman on Saturday, Nov. 2, for an 11am game to continue Northwest Conference action.
