Soccer Fights with Linfield for 1-1 Tie in Double Overtime

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Lewis & Clark women's soccer team tied their contest with the Linfield Wildcats 1-1 this Sunday, September 30th at Griswold Stadium.


This tie brings the Pioneers total record to 2-5-2, and 2-2-2 in Northwest Conference (NWC) play. The Wildcats record comes to 7-1-2, and 3-1-2 in NWC play.

The Pioneers were outshot 33-6, leading Lewis & Clark goalkeeper Geena Fong to 21 saves total in the 110 minutes played.

Emily Thompson started things off for the Pioneers, with a goal in the 19th minute from a perfect pass from Kylie Carera.

Lewis & Clark led through the half, until the 56th minute when Wildcat Julia Vaughan found the back of the net from a close shot to the left of the goal.

The score remained a tie from then on, despite many close attempts from both sides.

The Pioneers return to action next Saturday, Oct. 6th, on the road against Puget Sound.
