Women's Soccer Falls to Whitworth 2-0

BOX SCORE

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Pioneer women's soccer team lost to the Whitworth University Pirates on Saturday, 2-0, in their second game of Northwest Conference (NWC) play.

Lewis & Clark's record falls to 0-5 on the season, 0-2 in NWC competition. The Pirates improve their record to 2-4 on the season, with a NWC record of 2-0.

Whitworth scored early in the first half, with a header by Amy Sterk off a corner kick by Carly Schilperoort in the 11th minute.

Then again in the 38th minute, the Pirates found the back of the net, with Tiara Pajimola breaking away, with an assist from Sterk.

The scoreboard remained quiet in the second half, with neither team able to score.

Lewis & Clark Goalkeeper Geena Fong ended the game with 10 saves, and Emily Thompson had four shots in the game. Taylor Hudson also had three shots.

The Pioneers return to the field on Sunday, Sept. 16 at Whitman College for another NWC competition.
