Puget Sound Overcomes Soccer on the Road, 3-0

TACOMA, Wash. - The Lewis & Clark women's soccer team was defeated 3-0 by the Puget Sound Loggers on Saturday, Oct. 6th in an away game at East Field.

The Pioneers fall to 2-6-2 on the season, and 2-3-2 in Northwest Conference (NWC) play. The Loggers improve to 6-3-1, 5-1-1 in NWC play.

Puget Sound started off the game quickly, with a goal by Kylie Beeson that was rebounded from a shot by Theresa Henle.

The Loggers kept their momentum going, scoring again in the 17th minute with a shot from outside the 18 yard box from Amalia Acorda-Fey.

The Pioneers had only one shot in the first half, coming from freshman Megan Ratfield. In the second half, Lewis & Clark had three shots, two of which from senior Maddie Harper.

Despite their effort to score, Lewis & Clark could not hold off a third goal from Puget Sound. In the 62nd minute, Acorda-Fey again found the back of the net, with an assist from Henle.

Lewis & Clark plays again tomorrow, Sunday Oct. 7th at 12 p.m. at Griswold Stadium against the George Fox Bruins.
