Soccer Beats Pacific, 1-0, Ties School Record for Most Conference Wins in a Season

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Lewis & Clark women's soccer team beat the Pacific Boxers 1-0 this Sunday, Oct. 14th at Lincoln Park Stadium. The Pioneers also won against the Boxers previously this season, 2-0 on Sept. 29th.

The Pioneers improve to 5-7-2 on the season, and 5-4-2 in Northwest Conference (NWC) play. The Boxers fall to 5-6-3 on the season, and 3-6-1 in NWC play.

With this win, the Pioneers tie the soccer school record for most number of conference wins in a season.

The lone goal of the match came from Lewis & Clark's Traci Nakamura in the 52nd minute, with an assist from Anna Thorndike. Thorndike crossed the ball in to Nakamura, who was inside the six-yard box, and found the back of the net.

Lewis & Clark outshot the Boxers 15-9, with eight shots on goal. Nakamura and Taylor Hudson led the Pioneers with three shots apiece.

The Pioneers return home for their next match on Sunday, Oct. 21st at 12 p.m. against Pacific Lutheran.
