Portland, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's soccer team lost to the Linfield College Wildcats today in an upsetting 2-1 defeat.

The Pioneers got on the scoreboard in the 20th minute of the first half when Andi Glaeser took a shot rebounded off the hands of the Wildcat keeper.

Lewis & Clark continued to pressure Linfield with a shot from Natalie Levy aiming too wide of the post.

The Wildcats equalized the score in the second half off a free kick by Emily Fellows.

Linfield found their momentum after their first goal and after three shots took an opportunity for their second goal. Wildcat Zoe Langsdorf, assisted by Christine Tamamoto took a header off a corner kick right above the hands of L&C keeper Geena Fong.

With four minutes left Sarah Breninger took another stab at a goal but shot too wide.

"We played the best first half in two years, " said Coach Chase Jordan. "The girls gave great effort against a top tier team."

The Lewis & Clark Pioneers will return to action Sat. Sept. 17th when they head to Pacific Lutheran. The Pioneers will take on the Lutes at 12 p.m.
