Lewis & Clark women's soccer played to a 0-0 2OT draw tonight against the University of La Verne Leopards. Sophomore Emilia Emmetti led the Pioneers offensively with three shots.. McKenna Gooden led the Leopards with four.
The Pioneers (1-2-1 overall) took the first shot of the game with a drive by Maddie Harper. Emmetti continued the momentum with another opportunity that was saved by the Leopard keeper Delanie Pacheco.
The Leopards (1-1-2 overall) took two chances with shots by Julia Molina and Julia Borges but they were unable to hit the back of the net.
With back and forth effort from both teams the game remained tied 0-0 at the end of regulation. The Pioneers finished regulation with ten shots with efforts from Molli Bauke, Sarah Breninger, Emmetti, Andi Glaeser and Gillian Sullivan-Bing. The Leopards took four shots with opportunites coming from Marisella Macias, Gooden, Christine Camacho and Brianna Romero.
The Pioneers and the Leopards each had chances in both 10 minute overtime periods but neither team was able to put the ball in the back of the net.
Lewis & Clark earned a 16-14 shot advantage and a eight to three edge in corner kicks.
Keeper Elise Delgado finished with eight saves while Geena Fong earned one.
The Pioneers hit the road Wed, Sept. 14th and take on the Linfield College Wildcats starting at 7:00 p.m.
