Portland, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's soccer team fell to the Puget Sound Loggers 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Pioneers to 2-8-2 on the season and 1-6-1 in conference play. The Loggers improve to 9-2 overall and 7-1 in the NWC.
Puget Sound struck early in the tenth minute when Logger forward Jenny Moore shot the ball into the net off an assist from Abby Goss and made the score 1-0. With four minutes left in the half the Loggers scored their second goal with a shot from Robin Vieira into the open net off a pass from Annie Jonsson. The first half ended with a 2-0 score.
Five minutes into the second half Puget Sound scored their third and final goal. Mikaela Freeman sent the ball into the back of the net and was assisted by Christine Isabella.
The Loggers outshot the Pioneers 15-7 but both Elise Delgado and Geena Fong were strong in goal with two and six saves respectively.
Natalie Stratton led Lewis & Clark offensively with two shots, one on goal. Natalie Levy, Gina Watkins, Austyn Byassee, Maddie Harper and Raquel McNeff each had one shot.
The Pioneers will return to action when they take on Linfield College Wednesday Oct. 12 at home starting at 7:00 p.m.
