PORTLAND, Ore. - Facing the toughest competition they will see all season, the Lewis & Clark women's basketball team battled the Portland State Vikings, who are an NCAA Division I opponent, to a respectable 74-47 loss. The Pioneers received an all-star performance from sophomore Kristina Williams, who scored a game-high 20 points.
Williams ended the night 12-15 from the free throw line, while also pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds, seven of which were on the defensive end. Junior Margaret Dowling finished the night with seven points and seven rebounds. Neva Hauser and Tayler Wang each finished with five points, while pulling down eight and six rebounds respectively.
The Pioneers shot a solid 84% from the free throw line, finishing the night 21-25 from the charity stripe.
The team returns to the court on Monday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. when they take on Warner Pacific on the road.
