LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Lewis & Clark College women's basketball fell to Occidental College 64-45 on Saturday afternoon at Rush Gymnasium in the River Otters' final non-conference game of 2025.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Sophomore
Kaitlen Carns led Lewis & Clark with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting. She added six rebounds and four assists. Junior
Lauryn Frederickson scored seven points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, while fellow junior
Kaela Guidry recorded three points and eight rebounds.
First-year
Ali McCauley finished with nine points and six boards. Junior
Divinity Singleton and first-year
Lilly Jordan added five points and three rebounds apiece.
Occidental opened the game with an 11-2 run over the first 5:45 of the first quarter. The Tigers held Lewis & Clark to four field goals on 13 attempts in the opening frame. Carns and Singleton each connected on a three-pointer in the quarter to keep the River Otters within striking distance at 20-14 after 10 minutes.
The second quarter proved challenging for Lewis & Clark, which made just two field goals and scored six points. Occidental extended its lead to 35-20 at halftime.
Lewis & Clark opened the third quarter with back-to-back free throws from McCauley to cut the deficit to 35-22. The Tigers responded with a 12-5 run to push the margin to 47-27 with 3:50 remaining in the period. Frederickson knocked down a three-pointer with 3:20 left to trim the lead to 47-30, but Occidental carried a 53-32 advantage into the fourth quarter.
The River Otters made a brief push early in the final period. Singleton scored on a layup at the 9:23 mark, and Carns followed with a layup at 8:54 to pull Lewis & Clark within 53-36. Jordan hit a three-pointer with 2:44 remaining to make it 58-43, but the Tigers closed the game on a 6-2 run to secure the victory.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Jordan was second on the team with three assists.
- Junior DJ Kendrick (two points, four rebounds) and first-year Ky Roussin (one point) rounded out the River Otters' scoring.
- Senior Tatiana Rebanal grabbed two rebounds and dished out one assist off the bench.
- Singleton and Guidry each recorded one block.
