BOX SCORE

SPOKANE, Wash. - In the final game of the 2009 season the Lewis & Clark women's soccer team was unable to pull out a victory against host Whitworth University on Saturday afternoon, falling 1-0 to the Pirates in a Northwest Conference match-up.

With the loss the Pioneers finish 3-12-5 on the season and 2-12-2 in conference play, while the Pirates conclude their season 17-3 overall and 14-2 in the NWC. The win helps the Pirates chances of receiving an at-large bid for the NCAA Division III tournament.

The Pirates outshot the Pioneers 17-4, while also having a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Sidonia Davin scored the games lone goal in the 25th minute of action, giving the Pirates the 1-0 win.

The Pioneers are set to return all but one player next season. Despite finishing ninth in the NWC, the Pioneers put together their best season in program history, which included six shutouts this season.
