WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Whitman Missionaries
closed out their season with a 3-0 victory over the Lewis &
Clark Pioneers in Northwest Conference women's soccer action
on Friday afternoon. With the loss the Pioneers fall to 2-11-2 in
conference play and 3-11-5 overall, while the Missionaries end
8-9-2 on the season and 7-8-1 in the NWC.
The Missionaries received all three of their goals from senior
captain Corina Gabbert, for her third hat track of the season.
The Missionaries outshot Lewis & Clark 20-12, while each team
had four corner kicks.
Gabbert put the Whit's up 1-0 in the 26th minute of the first
half, on a slotted pass from Kristin Innes. Gabbert's final
two goals came in the second half of play courtesy of assists from
Amy Hasson and Marison Fonzeca.
Gabbert had a game high 13 shots, while Liska Havel, Katie
Browning, Katrina Weisbecker and Gina Watkins all had two shots for
the Pios.
The Pioneers close out their season on Saturday, Nov. 7 with an 11
a.m. show down with the Whitworth Pirates.
