Women's Soccer Unfortunate in 0-0 Double Overtime Tie

BOX SCORE

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The Lewis & Clark women's soccer team caught an unlucky break on Saturday afternoon when a goal by Katie Browning was waived. The ruling was Browning's goal did not make its way into the net until after the halftime buzzer went off. The Pioneers then battled the Linfield Wildcats to a 0-0 double overtime tie.

The Pioneers are now 3-5-5 on the season and 2-5-2 in the Northwest Conference. The Wildcats are now 7-6-1 overall and 4-5-1 in conference play.

“We played well,” said head coach Steve Golas. “It was a pretty even match and we created lots of chances.”

The Pioneers return to action on Sunday, Oct. 18 when they host Willamette at noon at Griswold Stadium.
