The Pioneer soccer team fell 1-0 (box score) to the Willamette Bearcats Wednesday night in Salem.

The Pioneers played another strong defensive game, keeping Willamette off the scoreboard until the 83rd minute when the Bearcats scored off a deflection off of a corner kick.

Goalkeeper Kate macDougall (freshman, Danville, Calif.) had six saves. Liz Martin (freshman, Fremont, Calif.) took one of the Pioneers' three shots and their lone shot on goal.

The Pioneers (2-2-3, 1-2 NWC) are back in action on Sunday, September 28, when they take on the Linfield Wildcats in McMinnville.
