The Pioneer women's soccer team fell 4-0 to the #6 Puget
Sound Loggers in a Northwest Conference match Friday afternoon in
Tacoma, WA (boxscore).
The Pioneer defense could only fend off the Loggers'
offensive attack for so long, when the Loggers scored their first
goal 23 minutes into the first half. The Pioneers allowed 25
shots and four goals for the Loggers in the remaining 67 minutes of
the game, going into halftime down 2-0. With most of the
game's action taking place on the L&C half of the field,
the Pioneer offense did not have a chance to attack the Logger
defense.
Goalkeeper, Kate MacDougall logged five saves for the
Pioneers. Four different players scored for the 6th-ranked
Loggers, who are now 17-1-0 overall and 15-0-0 in Conference
play. With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 4-11-4 overall and
3-11-1 in Conference play.
The Pioneers will wrap up their season Saturday, November 8,
against the Pacific Lutheran Lutes in Tacoma, WA.
