The Linfield Wildcat women's soccer team defeated the Pioneers
1-0 (boxscore)
Saturday afternoon in McMinnville.
The Pioneers had a challenging defensive day, but goalkeeper
Nora Germano (senior, Los Altos, Calif.) turned in a very solid
performance. Germano had 11 saves in the first half alone. Germano
kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard until twenty-six minutes into
the second half when the Wildcat's Amber Calcagno connected for the
lone goal of the game. Germano ended the game with 15 saves.
Lisa Housman (senior, Beverly Hills, Calif.), Katie
Burnett (senior, Los Angeles, Calif.) and Stephanie Thurin (junior,
Park City, Utah) each had two shots for the Pioneers.
With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 1-4-1 (1-3-1 NWC). The
Pioneers are back home for another midweek evening contest, this
time hosting George Fox on Wednesday night, Sept. 26, at 7pm at
Griswold Stadium.
